Ground School Terms & Conditions

1. Who and what these terms cover

These terms cover Splendid Aviation's online Private Pilot Ground School and Instrument Ground School, including their available lessons, assessments, progress tools, and AI study features. Students may use the courses while training at Splendid Aviation or with another flight school or instructor.

Your purchase identifies the course and features included. Access to one course does not include the other unless your offer expressly includes both. Voice practice packs, other memberships, in-person classes, aircraft rental, and flight-training packages are separate products with their own stated terms. A signed flight-training or school-enrollment agreement continues to govern the training covered by that agreement.

Review these terms and the specific offer before purchasing. A free account, sample lesson, or use of a free study tool does not authorize a payment or enroll you in a paid subscription. These terms do not change the price or access period of a purchase you already made.

2. Your account and course access

Provide accurate account and purchase information, use an email address you can access, and keep your sign-in details and recovery codes private. Access is for the named individual learner and may not be shared, resold, or transferred without our permission. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must authorize and handle the purchase.

Lessons and assessments are delivered online in a compatible browser; you provide your device and internet connection. Course access begins after successful payment and account activation, or when access is granted under your school program. The offer and receipt identify your access period. Contact us promptly if payment succeeds but you cannot access the purchased course.

School-provided access follows your program enrollment and agreement. Check your existing account before buying again. A paid retail subscription is not required merely because you are already receiving the same course through an eligible Splendid Aviation program.

3. Prices, payments, and automatic renewal

The course offer and checkout identify the product, currency, price, billing frequency, access period, applicable taxes, and any included usage allowance before you pay. Payments are processed through Stripe. Do not complete payment if the offer and checkout disagree; contact us to correct the order.

If you select the Instrument Ground School monthly subscription, the charge is US$20 at signup and each monthly renewal until you cancel. No sales tax is added to this offer. The subscription includes Instrument Ground School only. There is no annual commitment for that monthly plan. A monthly subscription provides access for paid billing periods and is not a one-time or lifetime purchase.

Recurring charges require your affirmative agreement to the subscription at checkout. A one-time purchase does not automatically become a subscription. Existing one-time access and other memberships retain the terms stated when purchased.

If a renewal payment fails, we may ask you to update your payment method and may suspend paid access after your paid-through period ends. We will notify affected subscribers before a price change takes effect and provide an opportunity to cancel before the changed charge. We will obtain any additional consent required by law.

4. How to cancel a subscription

You may cancel a monthly subscription at any time without a cancellation fee. Use the cancellation option supplied with your subscription or email support@splendidaviation.com from your account email with the subject "Cancel Ground School subscription". Identify the course you want to cancel; include your order reference if available. Never send a password or full payment-card number.

Cancellation stops future renewals. Your course access continues until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, unless access is restricted for misuse under section 11. A cancellation request received before the next renewal is effective for that renewal; our processing time does not extend your payment obligation. We will confirm the cancellation and paid-through date.

Finishing the course, stopping study, signing out, or deleting an app does not by itself cancel a subscription. Request cancellation to stop renewal. Canceling billing does not automatically delete your account or training records; you may contact us separately about your personal information.

5. Refunds and billing problems

Monthly subscription fees pay for access during the purchased billing period. Except as described below, paid subscription periods are non-refundable and we do not provide prorated refunds for unused days. Finishing a course, passing or failing an assessment, or choosing not to study does not by itself create a refund entitlement. Cancellation prevents future renewal charges and preserves access through the paid period.

We will correct duplicate charges, charges made in error, and renewal charges taken after an effective cancellation. If we cannot provide the access you purchased, contact us so we can restore it or provide an appropriate refund for the undelivered service. Nothing in these terms limits refunds or other remedies required by applicable law, or your rights to dispute an unauthorized or incorrect payment.

For a refund or billing review, email support@splendidaviation.com with your account email, course, order reference, and a brief description of the problem. Approved refunds are returned through the original payment method where possible; payment-provider processing times apply.

One-time purchases and existing training agreements retain any specific refund promises provided with the original offer. These subscription terms do not retroactively remove an existing customer's refund rights.

6. Your instructor, training credit, and endorsements

Private Pilot and Instrument Ground School are educational study services. Work with an appropriately authorized instructor, including a CFII for Instrument flight instruction, for practical training, individual debriefs, readiness decisions, and endorsements. Course purchase does not include flight instruction, a human instructor's time, examination fees, or checkride fees unless your separate agreement expressly includes them.

Buying access, earning an online score, or receiving an automated completion message does not by itself grant an FAA certificate, rating, endorsement, approved training-device credit, or an official signed training record. Where online work is used within a training program, credit remains subject to that program's requirements and authorized review. Your outside school or instructor determines whether it accepts this course toward its own requirements.

We do not guarantee an examination score, a checkride result, a completion date, or FAA approval of your training. Course requirements and instructional standards still apply even when you complete the material quickly.

7. AI study tools and usage limits

AI explanations, instructor-style voices, coaching, radio practice, and mock oral questions are study aids. They are not a human instructor, an air traffic control service, a weather briefing, or an operational clearance. AI can produce incorrect, incomplete, or outdated information. Verify explanations against current FAA references, the applicable regulations, your aircraft's approved POH/AFM, and your instructor's guidance.

Do not use the Study Center or its AI tools to make real-time flight, navigation, weather-avoidance, emergency, or aircraft-control decisions. Aircraft-specific examples must be checked against the actual aircraft and its current approved information.

Included AI and voice usage is limited to the allowance stated in your offer. Course access does not mean unlimited voice time or unlimited paid AI use. Any separately priced additional usage must be disclosed and agreed to before it is charged. Do not bypass usage limits, run automated sessions, or share access codes.

8. Assessments and honest progress records

Complete lessons and assessments under your own identity. Follow the instructions about permitted references and assistance, and do not use prohibited AI assistance during a scored exam. Do not share answer keys, impersonate another learner, or submit another person's work as your own.

Saved progress, attempt history, and scores help you and authorized school staff review learning. A lesson view is not automatically completion credit. Required lesson work, passing standards, debriefs, and instructor signatures continue to apply where specified by the course or your training program.

9. Using the course materials

During your authorized access period, you may use the course for your personal study and use downloads or printing expressly provided by the service. Do not redistribute paid lessons or assessments, sell copies, share account access, or use the service to build a competing question bank without permission.

Splendid Aviation and its licensors retain their rights in the original course materials. Public-domain government materials and third-party materials remain subject to their own status and applicable licenses; these terms do not claim ownership of public-domain FAA publications or restrict rights the law gives you.

10. Course records, privacy, and AI requests

Operating the courses involves account and access information, purchase references, lesson progress, assessment attempts, and related training records. Authorized staff may review records within the Portal to administer your access and training. Payment details are handled through the payment provider.

When you use AI features, your submitted text and, when enabled, microphone audio are sent to the relevant AI service provider to generate a response. Do not include payment-card numbers, passwords, medical records, or other unnecessary sensitive information in an AI conversation. Third-party services have their own privacy practices.

Contact support@splendidaviation.com for questions about course records or to request access, correction, or deletion. Some records may need to be retained for legitimate training, transaction, or legal obligations; a cancellation request alone is not a deletion request.

11. Corrections, availability, and account restrictions

We may correct course content, repair faults, and maintain the service. Content available during your access period can be updated; purchase does not promise every future feature or additional program. We cannot promise uninterrupted internet or third-party service availability. Tell us about missing access or a material error so we can address it.

We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address account sharing, fraud, assessment abuse, security threats, or unlawful activity. Where practical, we will explain the reason and allow you to contact us about a mistake. A restriction does not remove any refund or consumer remedy required by law. If we discontinue a paid service before your purchased access ends, we will provide an appropriate remedy for the undelivered portion.

12. Updates to these terms and your rights

We will identify revisions by their updated date and give affected customers appropriate notice of material changes before they take effect. Changes do not retroactively alter a completed purchase or take away mandatory consumer rights. Subscription price changes follow section 3.

Nothing here excludes responsibilities or remedies that applicable law does not allow us to exclude. If one provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. You may contact us to resolve a concern without giving up any right to use other available remedies.
